On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 Willie Eugene ”Gene” Carr, passed away at the age of 91 in Stephenville, Texas. Gene was born on April 21, 1928 to Frank and Fay (Venable) Carr in Gracemont, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  

 Following eight years in the Air Force, Gene attended Texas A&M in College Station. He proudly wore his 1960 Aggie ring. Gene was a past Master of Tarrant County Masonic Lodge #942 and past Master of Chapter and Council. He was a member of the Nit Picker Degree Team.

 Gene Married JoAnn Walker on December 3, 1951 in Columbus, Indiana. They raised two children, Connie Elizabeth Blum and Toby Andrew Carr. He retired from General Dynamics in Fort Worth Engineering Administration after working on the F16 and many other projects. Gene was known for his wit, infectious smile, and his ability to tell a great story. He loved his family and proudly served his country.

 Gene was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn; son Toby; his parents, Frank and Fay Carr; and sister-in-law Jean Carr. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Blum; brother, C.L. Carr; sister Carolyn Hampton, and brother-in-law Hardy Hampton. He had five grandchildren, James Stelzer and wife Keren; Andra Doll and husband Nathan; Tonya Moses, Alec Carr, Aaron Carr and wife, Kennedy. He had 11 great-grandchildren, Karen, Kyle and Kaylynn Stelzer, Anika and Floyd Witsoe, Morgan Malibago, Tiana Stelzer, Laila Carr and Calum Carr and Journee Carr. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Lacy Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

 Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Erath Gardens of Memory at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Weldon Branham officiating

 Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Grace Place Building fund or to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
