Addie Winnell ‘Nell’ Parnell, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, November 3, 2019 in Abilene.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 8th at Lowell Cemetery with her son-in-law, Robby Stuteville officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 6th at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Nell was born on April 12, 1927, in Erath County to the late Samuel E. and Mattie Fair Turpen. She married Joseph Quain Parnell on May 25, 1946 in Stephenville. Joe preceded her in death on June 2, 1997. Nell was a member of the First Baptist Church, attending the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She worked over 36 years in the Stephenville ISD in food service. Nell loved sports, especially watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. She lived most of her life in Stephenville, but spent the past 6 years in Abilene to be close to her family.

Nell is survived by her son, Charles and wife Pat Parnell of Tuscola; daughter, Debra and husband Robby Stuteville of Rising Star; grandchildren, Shannon and husband Brandon Geye of Rising Star, Emily and husband Travis Alford of Rising Star, Tristan Parnell of Abilene, Heath Parnell of Abilene; and great grandchildren, Emory Quain Geye, Abby Ann Geye, and Braden Parnell, Callan Travis Alford and Jenna Leigh Alford.

Besides her parents, and husband, Joe; Nell was also preceded in death by an infant great grandson.

The Parnell family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
