Jerry Don Needham was born to parents, Willie Edgar Needham and Mozann Virginia (Kirkland) Needham January 14, 1938 in Hico, Texas, passed away December 3, 2019 at age 81.
Most of his friends and family referred to Jerry Needham as Pappy. He was Pappy to so many young people in the city of Hico.
Jerry enjoyed his family and all of the family get-togethers so very much. He loved going to his church and interacting with his church friends. He enjoyed riding his horse, Frostie, and his team roping. He won saddles, blankets, horse collars, and numerous buckles during his roping endeavors! He was also in the dairy business for 29+ years. During that time, he took one vacation from his duties as a dairy farmer.
He graduated from Hico High School in 1956 and attended Tarleton State University.
He was an A-I Technician for COBA Select Sires from 1964 until 1971.
Jerry Needham loved life! He was an example of how life is supposed to be lived! He was a thoughtful strategist—always thinking things through completely before making any decisions! His life could be summed up in four statements: Love for God, Love for Family and friends, Love for Country, and Love for Animals.
Preceding Jerry in death are his parents, Grandson Justin Walker Barnette; Brother Willie DeWayne Needham and Sister-in-law Mary Frances Needham; Sister Doris Lane and brother-in-law Paul Lane
Surviving Jerry are Reggie Needham, loving wife of 61 ½ years; Son Hal Needham and Wife Debbie; Daughter Trina Barnette and husband Bobby Barnette; Son Sean Needham Grandsons; Chad Needham, Casey Needham and wife Laura, Jeremy Barnette and wife Kaley, Cory Needham and wife Caitlin, and Ryder Needham, Great- grandchildren: Brayden Barnette, Cameron Gaines, Brantley Barnette, Matti McClelland, Jamison Needham, Ellis Needham, and one more on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews. Multiple friends—including all of his roping buddies
Visitation 6-8pm, Thursday, December 7, 2019 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home.
Services 2:00pm, Friday, December 8, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Hico with Pastor Dace Clifton officiating. Burial to follow at Country Oaks Cemetery.
