Nancy Jane (Griffis) Thetford, age 90, died in Stephenville, Texas on Thursday, December 5, 2019 due to Dementia. She was born on February 26, 1929in Indian Gap, Texas, where she went to school and graduated with the last graduating class of 1947, as salutatorian. She was an outstanding basketball and tennis player. On December 22, 1947, she married S.C. Thetford of Pottsville. She was a wife and mother before joining the workforce in 1958. She worked for 35 years in the sewing industry. Survivors include her sons, Dale Thetford and wife Pam of Stephenville, Texas, Floyd Thetford of Katy, Texas, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Thetford of Carlton, Texas. She had six grandchildren: Jamie Thetford of Dallas, TX, Ward Thetford of Mesquite, TX, Terri Waltz of Killeen, TX, Stephen Thetford of Lake Charles, LA, John Thetford of Rosenburg, and Zack Thetford of Katy, TX. Her Great-grandchildren- include, Jared Thetford, Abby and Kaylee Waltz, Katelyn, Clara, and Cannon Thetford. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, S.C. Thetford, and her son, James Wayne Thetford, her parents and siblings.
