The First Baptist Church of Stephenville held their 16th Annual Christmas Day Dinner.  This annual event is open to the entire community for free.

This year the event prepared a total of 882 meals.  Of the 882 total meals, 557 were To Go Meals.  Meals were delivered all over town to those who had to work on Christmas Day.  Some of the various locations included Oakwood Assisted Living, Senior Care of Stephenville, Mulberry Manor, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital of Stephenville and the local CareFlite crew, Stephenville Police Department, Erath County Sheriff’s Office, Stephenville Fire Department, Erath County Fire Rescue, Foster Home and Meals on Wheels.

And, this year, meals were delivered to Morgan Mill for the first time.  FBC volunteer, Joanna Shaw, shared a story of how an elderly lady who received a delivered meal was delighted to have the company as well on Christmas Day stating Joanna was her only visitor that day.

The event’s leaders, Fred and Susan Weldon, have been involved in this wonderful project for 15 years now.  Fred and Susan would like to thank all of those wonderful volunteers who once again made this event a huge success.

Several volunteers are not even members of the First Baptist Church, they just came to volunteer because they wanted to be involved.  Susan Weldon said “This was definitely a team effort.” And, she wanted to thank all those that came forward to help.

This meal is made possible by the generous donations of the members of First Baptist Church of Stephenville.  What a great way to share the love of Jesus Christ!
