Samuel Ray “Sam” Owens, 25, passed away January 10, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Vance Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Sam married Emily Steadham on July 28, 2017 in Decatur, Texas. Finley Ruth Owens, the love of their lives, joined the family on February 22, 2019.
Sam enjoyed farming and was a member of the Tarleton State University Plow Boys.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Owens; daughter, Finley Ruth Owens; mother, Marjorie Budens and husband Robert D. of Temple, Texas; father, Benny Ray “Chip” Owens II and wife Debby of Abilene, Texas; maternal grandmother, Beverly Goodyear-Clark and husband Max of Mineral Wells, Texas; paternal grandparents, Benny Ray Owens and wife Ginger of Abilene, Texas; several aunts, uncles, cousins and all of his Fraternal “Brothers”, The TSU Plow Boys.
Sam is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, F.H. “Bert” Goodyear.
