James M. (Jimmy) Jones

(February 7, 1943 ~ January 17, 2020)

James M. (Jimmy) Jones passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2020. Jimmy was born in Comfort, Texas February 7, 1943. He spent his youth on a ranch in Bergheim, Texas and later attended Clifton High School. Soon after, he joined the United States Army National Guard and was in the Reserves for 6 years. Rodeo was his passion. He spent several years as a bull and bronc rider, clown, and judge.

 Jimmy worked for Otis Engineering, a division of Halliburton for 27 years. Towards the end of his career, he was transferred to the Nevada Test Site as an independent contractor for 8 years. It was in Nevada in 1990 where he met Sarah and Chris. Jimmy and Sarah married in Las Vegas, NV in 1991. He brought Sarah and Chris to a small piece of heaven near Huckabay, TX. Together, the three of them ranched where they raised cattle, goats, and running bred quarter horses. He loved to see a colt he raised cross the finish line at the racetrack. 

He was a talented artist who enjoyed sketching and painting. He loved music, singing, and dancing. He was a clown at heart, a prankster and always enjoyed a good joke. Jimmy never met a stranger and made lifelong friends all around this country.

 He was preceded in death by his daughter-Dana Kay Jones, father-Frank “Sash” Jones, mother-Mary Cravey White, step-mother-Carlene Booth Jones, and half-brother-Carl Louis Jones.

 He is survived by his wife, Sarah, his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Jenn Krizmanic, sister and brother-in-law; Gail and Russell Dziubanek, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Alton and Susie Hatcher, Yvonne Zicari, John Zicari, Anthony and Margaret Zicari, and father-in-law; Onofrio Zicari, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 The family would like to thank the community for their continuous and loving support. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date.
