NEW ORLEANS – Five members of the Tarleton track and field program were named All-American by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.

Jasmine McQuirter was honored in the long jump event. Prior to the season being cancelled due to COVID-19, McQuirter was ranked seventh in DII with a measurement of 6.00m.

Anterius Brown earned a spot on the All-American list in both the 400 meters and the 4x400m relay events. Brown was ranked ninth in the 400m with a time of 47.35. Joining Brown on the 4x400m team is Brandon McKissickMikel Stone, and Colton Troutman. The men were ranked 11th with a time of 3:13.74. Troutman received All-American recognition in 2018 in the same event after placing eighth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Because the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships were canceled, the Executive Committee created unique criteria to select All-Americans. Athletes under the following lists were recognized as All-America for the 2020 Indoor track & field season:

  • Individual events: ALL student-athletes listed on the start list for the anticipated event.
  • Relay events: The four student-athletes per anticipated relay who produced the performance that was declared and accepted into their event.

McQuirter, Brown, McKissick, and Stone will all be returning next season as the Texans transition into a Division I institution.
