Tarleton radio station KTRL 90.5 FM begins streaming

STEPHENVILLE — Listeners to 90.5 FM, Tarleton State University’s radio station, have a new way to enjoy the programming from wherever in the world they may be.

Recently, the station began streaming at tarletonradio.com.

“We haven’t been able to stream our signal until now,” said radio instructor Kirk Wise, the station’s development director. “Listeners could pick up the station in Stephenville and the surrounding area. We’re excited to be able to share our programming with all of our students and supporters on the internet.”

KTRL offers a mix of music, news, talk and local shows like “On Politics” hosted by the dean of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts, Dr. Eric Morrow. Listeners may tune in to popular National Public Radio programs such as “Fresh Air,” “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered.”

In addition, shows like “Beatles & Beyond,” “Essential Jazz”and“Standards, Jazz & The Blues”are produced and hosted by local talent.

The station is part of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and transmits community-supported public radio to the surrounding area while offering training and work experiences for students interested in a broadcast career. The station is also the official radio home of Tarleton sports.
