(June 21, 1952 – July 20, 2020)
After succumbing to a long battle with cancer, Arlie Leon McCoy was taken from this world on Monday, July 20, 2020. He was 68 years old.
Graveside services for Leon will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 24th at Clairette Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to view the departed and sign a guest book Wednesday and Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Born on June 21, 1952 in Levelland, Texas, Leon was son to the late Arlie and Lanetta Dresslar McCoy. In January of 1985, he joined Diane Chambers in marriage and remained a loving, devoted husband for the rest of his life.
As a veteran of the US Army, Leon served his country as a Specialist while stationed in Germany.
Over the years, he worked diversely in oil fields, hair salons, and connected us together by bringing television and internet into our homes as the Plant Manager of Northland Communications. He was also a member of the Church of Christ.
Leon had an infectious laugh and a smile that could turn your day around. He loved spending his time golfing, hunting, and fishing, especially while in the company of good friends. Born with an artistic gift, he was a talented sculptor in a variety of mediums and brought many beautiful things into the world. He spent his life doing what he set his mind to and excelled at it. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Traci and husband Jack Pierce; son, Jimmy; sister, Denyse and husband Mike Turner; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many, many beloved pets.
Besides his parents, Leon was also preceded in death by his brother, Pat McCoy.
