Elizabeth Joyce Green, age 88, of Stephenville passed away peacefully on Thursday July 30, 2020.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Indian Creek Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation will be 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home.

She was born in Borger, Texas to Lee and Ludema Pruitt. She was a Citizen of the Cherokee Nation and her mother, grandfather, and great-grandfather are on the Dawes Rolls. She attended high school in Oklahoma City and Odessa. While living in Odessa, Joyce married Robert Cravens Glaser and had their daughter, Mary Margaret. She later moved to New York City and then Long Island. She married William Diehl and had two daughters, Katherine and Debby. She also lived in Lincolnshire, Illinois before returning to Odessa. She retired after many years owning and managing Doreen’s Maternity Shop in Odessa. She married Frank Eugene Green in 1980 and they moved to Stephenville to live out their golden years.

Joyce had many interests and hobbies. Early in her life, she pursued her passion as a singer. She trained as a singer in high school and later went to New York for further study with a private teacher. She continued to sing throughout her life at church, the Odessa Symphony and other choirs and chorale. Her amazing talents were shared and cherished by many for years. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, bird watching, traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking, and entertaining. She loved to paint china, and her work can be seen in many homes in Texas to this day. She had a wonderful sense of humor and shared laughs with many. She filled every room with beauty and joy. Whether she was on the front page of the newspaper with Frank showcasing their llamas or hosting an elaborate and gorgeous dinner party, she was truly a Renaissance woman.

Joyce was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to many. She was an amazing woman and lived a full, wonderful life. She left all of us better people by her presence in our lives. She cared deeply about her friends and family and shared her unconditional love for many. We will cherish our fond memories with her for the rest of our days.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Katherine Marie Diehl, parents Lee and Ludema Pruitt, and brothers Roger and Jack Pruitt and beloved husband Frank Green. She was survived by her daughters, Mary Margaret DeFiore and husband Brian and Debby Chell. Her grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Marcy Kujak; Christy and Ryan McGreevey; Melissa and Johnny Sullivan. Her step-grandchildren and spouses whom she loved as her own and Timberly Eyssen, Alex and wife Sarah Eyssen; Lacy and Nathan Wampler, Lori and Will Flemons, Shannon and Buck Murray, Sage and Morgan Best, and Autumn Green. Great grandchildren Skylar and Parker Kujak, Gavin and Garrett McGreevey and Brady Sullivan and 15 step-great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter whom she also loved as her own.

Dear Mom, Grandma, Grammy, Great Grandma, Joyce: You will be missed so much but your love will get us through every day. We know we will see you again one day. We love you so much.

The Green family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene.

The Green family also ask that mask be worn at visitation and graveside services.
