Wayne Decker, an amazing man who loved his GOD, his wife and son and LIFE walked home with Jesus on September 10, 2020.

A service honoring the life of this wonderful man and cowboy will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 2:00 at Cowboy Church of Erath County, 4945 US Highway 67, Stephenville, Texas officiated by his friend and brother in Christ, Pastor Werth Mayes under the direction of the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Wayne was born in Breckenridge, Texas on February 8, 1956 and graduated from Lanier High School in Austin, Texas in 1974. Wayne proudly served in the US Marine Corp as well as US Air Force. After a 30 year career in the natural gas industry, he pursued his true passion full time – Bar U Custom Leather.

Wayne loved designing and making one of a kind leather products. He took great pride in his work whether it was for a kid who had saved his allowance to order a wallet, a custom belt for a world champion or his own award winning saddle. Wayne lived life with joy and laughter. Those around him generally left his presence laughing, and with a smile on their face. He truly was a one-of-kind.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Wayne & Jimmy Joyce (JJ) Decker and Natalee Holmes. Wayne is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sue (Roberson) Decker of Round Rock and son, Colton Dae Decker of Austin, brothers Nick, Rocky, John Corey Holmes, father-in-law Charles (Tubba) Roberson, sister-in-laws & brother-in-laws, Debra and Chuck Elliott and Cheryl Evans & Mike Fergason, several special cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends he was so grateful for.

Service Details

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, at the Cowboy Church of Erath County.
