Paul Eugen (Skeet) Gardner passed away into eternity on October 1, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Skeet was born March 20, 1934 in Hamilton County, Texas. He was the second child of Price L and Rowena Rucker Gardner. He attended school in Blue Ridge community for eight grades and then graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952. He married Lloyda Thompson on June 1, 1954 in Gatesville, Texas. He worked for the telephone company as a lineman and later as supervisor of the west area construction department from 1952 until his retirement in 1989. Sheet was baptized in 1967 at West Main Street church of Christ in Gatesville. He served as deacon in the Park Heights church of Christ in Hamilton where he and Lloyda worked with the teenagers while their children were growing up. Skeet was always happiest when he was hunting, fishing of cooking. He especially loved cooking for a crowd on his old wood burning grill.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lloyda Gardner, daughter, Paula and her husband Barry Christian of Carlton, TX, son Vennie Garner and wife Tina of China Spring, Tx, son Darrell Gardner and wife Tami of Carrolton, Tx, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, sister Shirley and husband Gene Massingill of Durant, Ok, brothers Ronald Gardner and wife Deloris of China Spring, Tx and Dale Gardner and wife Sandy if Cedar Hill, Tx, sisters in-law, Jean Thompson of Ben Wheeler, Tx and Linda Gardner of Bend, Oregon and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerald Dean Gardner.

Service Information

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, at Park Heights Church Of Christ in Hamilton. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. on the church on Saturday before the service. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
