Arrest made in double stabbing in Dublin

DUBLIN — A Fort Worth teen sits in the Erath County Jail and two individuals are in the hospital following a fight in La Sombra Estates, north of Dublin, early Sunday. 

Around midnight on Sunday, October 10, first responders from Dublin EMS were dispatched to La Sombra Estates for a report of a stabbing victim. Law enforcement was also dispatched.

According to information from ECSO Sgt. David Southerland, deputies were sent to assist Dublin PD officers with a stabbing on PR 1317 (La Sombra). A deputy from the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, who arrived on scene, called for two air ambulances and Erath EMS arrived to help as well. 

Anthony Martinez, 18 of Fort Worth, was arrested and charged with Agg. Assault with a Deadly Weapon in the double stabbing on Sunday.

Officers on scene at the incident radioed to others that the suspect, identified as Anthony Martinez of Fort Worth, had left the scene in a red Ford Mustang. He was stopped by Dublin PD a short time later and taken into custody without incident. According to reports, Martinez confessed to arresting officers he was involved in the stabbing and a knife was found during the arrest. 

The two victims were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and are both listed in stable condition as of Monday afternoon. Anthony Leonel Martinez, 18, was booked into the Erath County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and is being held there on $50,000 bond.
