On Tuesday, October 13, many people gathered at Three Way ISD for a dedication ceremony to honor the late Chief Deputy Cody Keith of the Erath County Sheriff Department. His family joined the numerous community leaders and students.
Chief Deputy Keith was a great servant to his community and he was very active with Backpack Buddies of Erath County. Backpack Buddies is an organization that provides food for school children from food-insecure homes so these children have food to eat over the weekend. Keith personally delivered Backpack Buddies food to the children at Three Way ISD every two weeks for as long as his health allowed him to do so. He even brought donuts with him to give to the school children who would assist unloading of the food.
The ceremony Tuesday morning was the dedication of a “Dedication Garden and Memorial Stone” on the campus of Three Way ISD in Chief Deputy Keith’s honor. Cody Keith was a great man who is loved and missed by many.
