(May 28, 1935 – October 21, 2020)
Dick Rollins of Wimberley, Texas was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Jeanne on October 21, 2020. He was the youngest son of Charles Oscar (Charlie) and Hilda (Cox) Rollins, born on May 28, 1935. He graduated from Rotan High School in 1953 and married Annetta Jeanne (Jones) on June 25th, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas. Dick graduated from Rotan High School and attended McMurry University before working in the printing industry for Harte-Hanks in Abilene at Abilene Reporter-News and in Marshall and Searcy, Arkansas. Dick and Jeanne moved to Wimberley forty years ago where he worked at the Texas Department of Transportation Headquarters in downtown Austin until his retirement. A kind and gentle man, Dick was very well loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed dearly by many. He enjoyed nature and spent his retirement years designing and maintaining beautiful gardens filled with native plants with his wife at their home on Cypress Creek.
He is survived by his daughter, Regena Hatchett of San Antonio and son Richard Rollins and Kelly of Tulsa. He was grandfather to Ryan Burrow and wife Dr. Erica Sharp of Austin, Texas and Colby Hatchett and wife Amanda of Denton Valley and the proud great grandfather to Sarah Burrow, Haden Hatchett, Claire Rollins and Chris Rollins.
