Stephenville is the undisputed District 5-4A champion after the Honeybees managed a sweep of Brownwood’s Lady Lions 25-20, 25-17, 25-23 Friday at Gandy Gym.

No. 16 Stephenville rounds out the regular season at 24-4 and 7-1 in district play, while Brownwood falls to 18-11 and 4-3 in league play.
“I thought we played really well, and we pushed some things tonight,” Coach Shay Douglas said
What Stephenville pushed was best described by a clever Stephenville’s sign that read, “If you wanted soft serve, you should have gone to Dairy Queen.”
“High risk equals a big reward,” Douglas said.

That’s how it played out for the Bees, who will now flip a coin for a home-and-home situation against Mineral Wells (9-13, 3-7), the fourth-place finisher in District 5-4A.
While a place and time have not been determined, the match will be played next Thursday.
