Don Waight, age 91, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, in Pottsville, Texas.

He was born on April 26, 1929, in Dalhart, Texas, to William A. and Thelma (Jenkins) Waight. Don was a United States Army Veteran. In December, 1954, he was united in marriage to Ida Mae Gilmore. She preceded him in death. In 1973 he married Salley Dillard Moore, who also preceded him in death. Don was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was very talented and could do anything at which he tried his hand. He drove a tractor for Fisk, worked for Dr. Pepper Bottling Co., helped construct airplane hangars in Dalhart, and, for forty-three years, worked for Rock Island & Southern Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his daughters, Thelma Donnett Waight, Marilyn Dianne Velzy, and Sharon Kay Loveless and husband Larry; sons, Thomas Howard Waight and wife Laura, Arthur William Waight, Douglas Lee Waight and wife Milly, and Trenton Edward Waight and wife Connie; sister, Dorothy Mae Svanjord; grandchildren, Robin Dennis King, Nathaniel Don King, Bryan Paul Goodwin, Christie Loveless, Christal Loveless, Tosha Waight, David Waight, and Alana Waight. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Waight, and brothers, Kenneth Waight and Earl Waight.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.
