Mya Wesley scored 17 points, and four other Honeybees joined her in double digits as Stephenville picked up a 63-18 road win at Alvarado Monday.
The Honeybees, who have been off since last Monday’s win at home against Azle, looked rusty as the Bees had a 10-6 lead after the first quarter. That is close as the Lady Indians would get.
Stephenville connected on four 3’s in the second quarter and closed the half on a 25-2 run to take a 35-8 halftime lead.
Stephenville would open the second half on a 21-0 run, fueled by two more 3’s from Jaylee Matthews.
The Bees would hold the Alvarado to only a single free throw to take a 56-9 lead going into the fourth. The Lady Indians would take the fourth quarter 9-7 to make the final, 63-18.
Behind Wesley’s 17, Alee McClendon scored 14, Jaylee Matthews 12, Landri Withers 10, Katie McIrvin and Seren Fowler each with 3, and Trysten Monk and Zoe Birdwell each with 2.
With the win, the Bees move to 12-1 overall and host Abilene Wylie Wednesday (12/30) at 1:30 pm at Gandy Gymnasium.
