Kathryn Carroll (née Fettig) a caring wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully on January 23, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 93.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Al Carroll, Sr. of Stephenville, Texas and her son Dr. Stephen Carroll of Stephenville, Texas.  She and the family were devastated by the loss of them and have kept their memories alive through the years. Kathryn is survived by her sister, Helen Haman and her husband Joe of Towner, North Dakota, daughters Debra Carroll and Cindy Winsett of Granbury, son Alfred David Carroll, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Arlington, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was born on April 25, 1927 in Rugby, North Dakota to John and Lena Fettig. She married Alfred David Carroll, Sr. in 1947. The couple welcomed four children into their lives and Kathryn set about cooking and caring for her family as a homemaker.  Her children remember her as a wonderful mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Kathryn was accomplished at cooking and often made her children’s and grandchildren’s favorite meals when they visited.  She was a dedicated individual who loved her family dearly. She was a lifelong Catholic church member. 

The Rosary will be said at 2:30 pm for any who would like to participate and the funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 30th at 3:00 pm with a graveside burial at Erath Gardens of Memory in Stephenville, Texas.  Her grandson, Travis Winsett will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathryn’s life and masks are encouraged.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society in honor of her son, Dr. Stephen Carroll.   On Friday, January 29th, anyone is welcome to come sign the registry at Lacy Funeral Home.
