Memorial Services for Gretchen Walker, 96, a teacher, who died Sunday, January 24, 2021, will be held at a later date.
Gretchen was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 15, 1924, to Paul and Marjorie (Park) Ruedemann. She married Robert Howard Walker on June 22, 1957, in Austin, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2009.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her son, Brian Walker of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, India Walker and Kira Walker both of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Flora Gaona and Fern Gaona both of San Antonio, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Sarah Walker and Paul Walker.
I’m so sorry to hear about Gretchen. She was my first supervisor after moving to Stephenville in the early 1980s, and she was instrumental in helping me begin my 29 year career at Tarleton State University. I loved Gretchen and Bob. Prayers for comfort for the family.
