George (Mack) McCormick

George (Mack) McCormick, of Bluff Dale, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Stephenville with family by his side.

A viewing, at ones’ own leisure, will be available to family and friends at Stephenville Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday January 29, 2021.

Mack was born on July 18, 1927, in Dallas to the late James Ben and Ruby Barron McCormick. He was a graduate of Stephenville High School class of 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 6 years and on active duty 1945-1946 and 1950-1951. Mack married Allene Bishop in Dallas on July 3, 1952, and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2004. He married again late in life to June McDonald on April 8, 2017. He retired from the U.S. Postal service and from Granbury I.S.D. He was a deacon and a teacher in the Bluff Dale Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, June; daughter, Cheryl Jean Rhoades; son, George Barron McCormick, Jr. and wife Jianna; son, David Mack McCormick and wife Deannah; grandchildren, Zach, Kristi Jean, Keith, Kristy Gail and Kacy; great-grands, Cambria, Chelsea, Kyle, Micah, Ally, Abree, Alyssa, Kennedy, Harper, Arlo, Barron, Asa, and Klover; sister, Neta Sees; special nephew and friend, John Hunter Allen; special friend since teenage years, Dorothy Mills; and many other nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Allene; sisters, Clara Bramlett and Margaret Allen; son-in-law, Rocky Rhoades; brothers-in-law, Henry (Shine) Bramlett, Clarence (Bud) Sees, and John Allen, Sr.
