Betty Woodard, age 76, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, in Comanche, Texas.

She was born on February 2, 1944, in Hamilton, Texas, to Adolf and Eva Mae (Pax) Schultz. On May 13, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jay W. Woodard in Pottsville. He preceded her death on April 29, 2018. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook, who loved to bake tasty treats for her family and, according to those who knew her, she made the best apricot pies in the county. She worked hard all her life and for over thirty years she and Jay were custodians at Comanche National Bank. When they weren’t working at the bank or cleaning people’s homes, they were working at their farm. Betty loved the farm animals, which she tried, with great success, to turn into pets. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Jennifer Woodard of Comanche; and three grandchildren, Candace, Hunter and Lucy.

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on February 3, at the Comanche Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on February 4, in the Pecan Wells Cemetery in Hamilton County.
