November 28, 1945 ~ February 13, 2021 (age 75)

Judy Holder Griswold, 75, of Huckabay passed away on Saturday February 13th, 2021 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 10:30 am at Stephenville Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday February 19th from 6-8 pm at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Judy was born November 28, 1945 in Sweetwater, Texas to the late Cecil “Skeet” Franklin and Joyce Horne Holder. She married the love of her life Robert Griswold on August 26, 1967 in River Oaks and together they raised three children. Judy was a graduate of the University of North Texas where she was highly active as Captain of the Cheerleading team, played Volleyball and was awarded Who’s Who twice. She worked in Burleson as a PE teacher where she was head of the Elementary Physical Education department and responsible for writing the curriculum still used today. She retired in 2004 to their ranch in Erath County.  She spent many years as secretary/treasurer for Liberty Cemetery Association, where she worked tirelessly to achieve a historical marker status for the cemetery, where she and her family will be buried. She was a member of the Huckabay Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of almost 54 years, Robert Griswold of Huckabay; son, Lance Kirklin Griswold and wife Dee Anna of Rio Rancho, NM; daughters, Micah Janay Gutierrez and husband Xavier of Burleson, and Maegan Gayle Barnes and husband Chad of Huckabay; grandchildren, Maya, Quinn, and Garren Guiterrez, Nolan Griswold, and Remington and Ruger Barnes; brother Lowell Holder and wife Patty of Ft. Worth; sister, Karrie Holder of Huckabay; and niece Kenzie who played a special role in caring for her the last few years, as well as many nieces and nephews and loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Joyce Holder; a brother, Danny Holder; and grandson Corbin Gutierrez.
