John Mark Underwood, 52, passed away on February 22, 2021 in Comanche, Texas. He was born on August 21, 1968 in Fort Worth, Texas to his parents John and Hilda (Warfford) Underwood. John graduated from Dublin ISD in 1987; during this time at Dublin ISD he was nominated, 4 years in a row, for class president all, he was an all district athlete in football, basketball, tennis, and track, and was voted Best All Around Male Athlete in 1987.  He proceeded on to college where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business marketing at Tarleton State University in 1994. John coached Stephenville Little League Football and was a member of Par Country Club while also aiding at Golf Pro Shop. He continued his athleticism abilities through adulthood, loving to work out and run. John was known for his love for helping others and giving to those in need. John was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Dublin and New Braunfels, Texas. 

He is preceded in death by his father John L. Underwood, his grandparents Fred and Ethel Underwood, and Reverend Walter and Hilda Warfford.

John is survived by his mother Hilda Underwood of Granbury, Texas, his brother and sister-in-law Sid and Sheri Underwood of New Braunfels, Texas, and their children Shelby Freesmeyer of Spokane Valley, Washington, Shanyna Underwood of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Seth Underwood of New Braunfels, Texas, his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Christina Underwood of Austin, Texas, and their children Luke Underwood and Beau Underwood of Austin, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. 

Memorial Service will be held at the Dublin Live Oak Cemetery on Saturday, March 6th at 11:00 am. 

The family would like to invite everyone to attend the gathering, meal, and sharing of memories following the service at the David Fritz Farm in Dublin.
