Bryson Dill struck out eight batters through six innings, and Trace Morrison punched out three more in the final frame as Stephenville rallied for a 4-3 District 6-4A opening win against Glen Rose at James T Young Field Tuesday.

Things started a little shaky for the Yellow Jackets after giving up an unearned run in the first inning and repeating it with another error in the second.
Reese Elston’s hit-and-run single in the fifth inning scored two runs and began the Stephenville rally that put the Jackets on top 4-2 heading into the seventh.
Morrison pitched his way out of a bases-loaded situation as he struck out three batters and gave up one run. Morrison was also effective at the plate as he went 2-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.
Lane West was 2-3 and added a stolen base and run scored to the Jackets’ totals. Kyle Styron had a sacrifice, reached on an error, and scored a run. Cutter Gray had a single.
Stephenville looks to keep its district slate clean with a road trip to Lampasas Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
