Gay Lynn Bullard, age 64, died peacefully on the morning of April 12th 2021 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple after a courageous battle with brain trauma from a fall down a flight of stairs.

Gay was born on October 9, 1956 in Andrews, Texas and spent most of her childhood in the West Texas town of Crane. She moved to Hico with her parents and 2 sisters in the year of 1974, attended and graduated from Hico High School. Following several attempts to live on her own, Gay returned to Hico to live out her life with her parents and younger sister. Gay was the primary caretaker for her dad and will be greatly missed.

Gay was preceded in death by her mother Delyghte Bullard, her grandparents as well as some well loved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her father Gaylon Bullard, sister Lisa Bullard, and her sister Jessie Uptergrove with spouse Wade. Gay is also survived by her nephew Justin with spouse Cassidy and child Hayden, her niece Ashley Stone with spouse Shawn and children Jaxon, Pason, Zoey and Tillson, and her niece Sara Roberts with spouse Chris and children Ella and Emmalyn. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins spread out all over Texas and Oklahoma.

Gay Lynn was well known in the community of Hico, Texas where she lived most of her life. Everyone knew to steer clear of the Gator or Golf cart Gay loved to drive throughout town listening to her music play on the radio sitting next to her. Every year Gay looked forward to the Hico Old Settlers Reunion held in the Hico City Park each July. She loved to share her amazing talent to sing or to play the piano without music, just playing by ear. Before throat surgery for a paralyzed vocal cord, she could sing Daddy’s Hands by Holly Dunn so beautifully. Gay also loved to spend time with her family, particularly her great nephews and nieces. Family Karaoke night at the Britt Family Reunion will never be the same without Gay standing ready to sing another song. One beautiful song she joined in with her aunts was In The Garden.

April 12, 2021, Gay Lynn woke up in the Land of Glory and with the saints she will be singing with that beautiful voice forevermore.
