Obituary for Tanya Kathleen Moon
Tanya Kathleen Moon, born April 7, 1942 in Medford, Oregon to parents Glenn and Merle (Griffen) Brooks, passed away in Hico, Texas at age 79. Tanya was a special lady who was a true blessing to everyone who knew her. To know her was to love her. She was a devoted Christian, and was loyal to Dr. Charles Stanley’s weekly sermons. Tanya was also a devoted wife to Doug Moon, her husband of 39 years. Doug and Tanya were childhood friends who married later in life. They had a wonderful marriage and shared in a happy life together, with a love that knew no end.
Adored by her grandkids who knew her as “MawMaw”, Tanya absolutely loved them all as well. She was always so very proud of each and every one of them.
Tanya was an incredibly thoughtful lady and loved giving gifts. Many times, these gifts were totally unexpected, but all her gifts were always thoughtful and impeccably wrapped! It was such a joy for her to gift someone a true delight to receive.
Spring was Tanya’s favorite time of the year, when she loved planting flowers and working on the yard. It made her happy to see everything in full bloom.
Preceding Tanya in death were her parents and one son, David Glenn Tucker.
Surviving Tanya are husband Doug Moon, children Tami Davis and husband Cody, Paige Johnson, and Jason Moon and wife Shandria. Tanya is also survived numerous by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Tanya’s name.
Service Information
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 14, in the Hico Cemetery with Dace Clifton officiating.
