James Nathan Bundrant, Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 5th, 2021. He was born on November 10th, 1944, in Dublin, Tx, to James Nathan Bundrant, Sr. and Florine Moncrief Bundrant. After graduating from Dublin High School in 1963, James moved to the metroplex and worked for a number of years as an ID technician for the Fort Worth Police Department. He later worked successfully in a number of different professions including the dairy industry, small motor repair, real estate, interstate trucking, and construction. Owning several businesses over the years, James enjoyed working and could fix almost anything. If you were lucky enough to know him, you know he never failed to meet a challenge. He joked that he had worked as everything but a dentist.

James loved his family and friends. He had been married to his high school sweetheart, Joye Spoonts Bundrant, since 1963 and delighted in spending time with her and his children and grandkids playing dominoes and cribbage. He also loved to travel, tinker with cars, redo older houses, and live in new places. He made great friends in the metroplex, Dublin, Hico, Crowley, and, more recently, Palacios. He was a fierce advocate for family, friends and multiple charities over the years. His grandchildren will remember him simply as a wonderful Poppy.

James is survived by his wife, Joye Bundrant; children, Anthony Bundrant and wife LuAnn, Lisa Flowers and husband Lee; grandchildren, Bethany, Will, and Rebecca Bundrant, and Alex (Scout) Flowers. He is also survived by a number of extended family members whom he loved dearly.

As per his request, James will be buried in a private ceremony at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell.
