Verna Diane Rainwater, 66, of Hico, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Diane was born April 24, 1955 in Meridian, TX. She was happily married to Terry Rainwater, her high school sweetheart, for almost 50 years at the time of her death.

Diane is survived by her husband Terry, daughter Rachel Oliver (husband Alex and children, Fiona and Fox) of Austin, and daughter Shelly Partain (husband Rick and son Zach) of Katy, brother Randy Judkins of Iredell and wife Renee, brother Keith Judkins and sister Elaine Judkins, both of Cleburne, step sister Nell Lord and husband Allen of Liberty Hill, along with numerous in-laws nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Musick, of Hico, earlier this year.

Diane will be remembered by her family as a selfless and tireless wife and mother, and above all, she was a beloved “Nena” to Zach, Fiona and Fox, making it her top priority to spoil them on every occasion. Besides spending time with her family, Diane very much loved being outside and caring for her dogs, Baxter and Poppy. She also enjoyed living and working on their dairy which she did for more than 40 years.

There will be a Graveside Memorial Service Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 at the Hico Cemetery, with a Graveside visitation beginning at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (givenow.lls.org). The family is especially grateful to Dr. Berryman and his team at Texas Oncology and the Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas for the compassionate care Diane received as a patient there, and to Terry and Diane’s wonderful neighbors, the Moss Family and the Parker Family, for the tireless pet sitting, delicious home-cooked meals and countless other good deeds during her illness.
