ERATH COUTNY (August 16, 2021) — A family was taken and another young man will never be the same after a fiery two-vehicle crash on State Highway 6 between Dublin and De Leon Monday night.

First responders were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle crash on SH 6 near Dublin just after 10 p.m. Upon arrival, they found one pickup upside-down and another vehicle in flames. Despite the hard work by first responders, Eduardo Hernandez, 25, Diana Landa, 23, and Azriel K. Hernandez, age four, were killed.

According to the report from Texas DPS troopers who are investigating the crash, “the preliminary investigation indicates a 2013 Dodge 3500 pickup, driven by Timothy D. York, 23, of Burleson, was traveling east on SH 6 when, for an as yet undetermined reason, the vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes of travel and struck a 2000 Dodge head-on.  The collision forced the 2000 Dodge off the roadway where it caught fire and burned, killing the three occupants inside.”

Those persons were identified as the driver Eduardo Hernandez and the two passengers, Diana Landa and Azriel K. Hernandez, all from De Leon.  York was not injured.

This crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
