August 20, 1942- August 21, 2021
Brenda Lou (Braddy) Christian passed away into the arms of Jesus on August 21, 2021 at her home in Clairette, Texas surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved and known to all of us as “BB”, she was born in Morgan, Texas on Aug. 20, 1942 to parents Berlin and Mary (Pace) Braddy. BB married Pat Christian of Clairette on May 16, 1960 in her then hometown of Albany, Texas. Together BB and Pat, who survives, and has four handsome sons and one beautiful daughter, who all also survive her: Donny Christian and wife D’Ann of Hico, Texas, Steven Christian and Karen Foster of Hico, Troy Christian and Veronica Cortez of Dalhart, Texas, James (“The Baby”) Christian and wife Debbie of Hico, and daughter Torrie Pierce and husband Tim of Gatesville, Texas. BB was greatly blessed with 19 Grandkids and 34 Greats + 2 on the way. Three special boys near and dear to her heart also survive: Thomas Alman and wife Tracy, Randy Alman and Starla, and Scott Alman and Kim. Another Grand addition made to her family and heart is Cody Ohl. Special friends to BB include Jo Bullard, Susan Latham, and Jennifer Pettijohn all from Clairette. A very special “Thank you” from the family to these three dear friends, for always sharing yourself and your love with her. Angela Christian of Hico, and David and Vicki Easley of Huntsville also have a warm spot in her heart.
In her earlier years, BB worked at Randall’s Variety store and cooked at the Polar Bear café, both in Hico. BB enjoyed her flowers and roses, and she enjoyed watching her boys and grandchildren play Hico Tiger football as well as many other sports. Anyone that came to her home was BB blessed, as she loved her large family and friends and loved to feed them. She always said, “If you leave my home hungry, it’s your own fault”. BB was an excellent cook and prepared delicious home cooked meals each Wednesday, which many were blessed to enjoy. She loved her family Thanksgivings and Christmases, and having family and friends over at any time. BB always tried to make sure each child received their gift, and there were always a bunch. BB was greatly loved, and will be so missed, as will her beans! Love is a great thing that bonds family together.
BB had one sister, Stella Morgan, who with nieces Tresa and Angie, lives in Lake Wells, Florida. Her surviving brother, Eugene Braddy, along with nephew Larry Dean and niece Yvonne, lives in Albany, TX.
Beloved cousins include Kitten and Donetta of Valley Mills, TX and many more loved ones who remain. BB also had many loved family members on her husband Pat’s side of the family, who will never be forgotten.
BB was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gerald Braddy and wife Patsy; brother-in-law Douglas Morgan; niece Janet Green and her son Thomas and great-niece Holly; and grandson Justin Barnette.
Thank you from the family to the Solaris Hospice staff: Linda, Lacey, and Kimberly…you three are angels. We cherish the thought that Mom was lovingly showered during her illness with prayers, cards, visits, kind words, songs, and food. Mom was loved by many and so in lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make donations in her memory to causes near and dear to her heart: the Cody Ohl Benefit at the Mills Co. Bank.
