January 22, 1954 ~ September 29, 2021 (age 67)

Mike was born on January 22, 1954, to James “Son” Walker and Melba Ruth Walker in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He grew up in Lovington, New Mexico and moved to Stephenville, Texas at the age of 15.  He went to work for Thurman Cashon when he was 16, and eventually became the owner of Cashon Air Conditioning, a title he held for 46 years.

Mike attended Tarleton State College and became a member of the Los Caballeros Social Club where he formed very special and lifelong friendships and bonds.  He looked forward to every Cobb reunion.  He was always the life of every party.  He was loyal and loved his friends with all he had.  He truly was a great friend.

Mike was an avid golfer.  He was a member of Starr Hollow Golf Club in Tolar, Texas for many years.  One of his favorite spots was the back porch of the clubhouse after a round of golf.  He also loved to fish and hunt and traveled all over the world to do so.  Mike also loved old cars and, after years of aggravating his loved ones, finally fulfilled his dream last year and bought a 1971 Chevelle.  He lived fully and had so many stories to tell.  Just when you thought you had heard them all, he would pull out another one!

Mike loved his family fiercely, especially his wife, Susan, who he married in 1990.  He and Susan had many great adventures together.  She was his best friend.  They had two daughters together, Micah and Staci.  He taught them everything he knew.

Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan; daughter Micah Jackson and husband Kevin; daughter Staci Arpin and husband Tim; granddaughters Krystyn, Serenity, and River Arpin; Brothers James Walker and Randy Walker; niece Keilah Grosze; nephews Weston Walker and David Walker; and many, many special cousins that were more like brothers and sisters to him.

Funeral services for Mike will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 4, 2021 at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Alan Brunson and Billy Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at East Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation with the Walker family will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, Mike’s wish was that, instead, you should perform a random act of kindness.   He said that if you see someone who needs a helping hand, no matter how little or how big, HELP if you can.  And give with a loving heart.
