No. 9 Honeybees to face Argyle in Quarterfinal match up

The No. 9 Stephenville HS Honeybees (31-10, 10-5) are headed to the Regional Quarterfinals against the Argyle Lady Eagles (29-12, 18-4) Tuesday evening in Azle. The winner will face No. 2 Dumas (22-12) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12.

The Bees beat the Lady Porcupines of Springtown (25-16, 9-3) in four sets on Thursday evening (21-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-15) for the Area title. And come into the match with Argyle on a 13 game win streak. Stephenville was dominant in District 6, 4A play, going undefeated all season. Their last loss was a 3-set sweep by Abilene Wylie on Sept. 17. 

In addition to being ranked No. 9 by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, the Bees are ranked No. 4 in the state in 4A by Maxpreps.com behind Hereford, Decatur and Celina.

The Lady Eagles are in second place in District 4, 4A, behind No. 6 Decatur (32-8) who were also undefeated in district play. Argyle comes into the match on a 6-game winning streak, having last lost in 3 sets to Decatur in a district match up on Oct. 12.
