STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton announced the 2021-22 women’s golf spring schedule on Wednesday, set to begin in late February.
The Texans will continue their 2021-22 season with four regular season tournaments in the spring, closing out the year with the WAC Conference Championship in mid-April.
They’ll begin tournament competition on Feb. 21-22 at the Islander Classic, hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, at Brackenridge Park Golf Course in San Antonio.
On March 7-8, the Texans will head to McAllen Country Club in McAllen, Texas, for the UTRGV Invitational. A week later, they’ll play the HBU Women’s Intercollegiate in Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas, near Houston, from March 14-15.
On April 4-5, Tarleton will head to Beaumont, Texas, for the Cardinal Challenge at Beaumont Country Club, hosted by Lamar.
To conclude the season, the Texans will play in the three-day WAC Championship at Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville, Texas, on April 18-20.
Mathilde Brogens, Alejandra Cambronero, Beatrice Grise, Angela Inocian, Bridgett Joeris, Marianella Moreschi and Sofia Rodriguez will all be back in the spring ready to continue their 2021-22 campaign, led by head coach Isabel Jimenez.
Rodriguez leads the team in scoring with an average round score of 75.9. Brogens leads all Tarleton freshmen with an average round score of 76.9. Both had the best finishes for Tarleton so far this year at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Rodriguez recorded her fourth career top-10 finish shooting a +3 overall (219, 72-75-72). Brogens wasn’t far behind at +5 (221, 72-74-75), good for tied-17th.
