Lamarvin was born on August 14, 1951 in Lampasas to the late Willie Elton and Neale Alma Bailey Faught. The Faughts moved to Stephenville in 1960 where Lamarvin attended school and graduated in 1970. The old Wolf Pecan Lands was his outdoor classroom where he taught himself to track, hunt and avoid game wardens. Lamarvin served his country in the U.S. Army, serving two years in West Germany where he received medals for marksmanship.
He married Jeanie McDonald on November 7, 1980 in Stephenville. He was a member of the Green’s Creek Methodist Church, Erath County Republican Party, and lived most of his life in Stephenville. He was an avid fan of the Stephenville Yellowjackets until injuries prevented access to the old Memorial Stadium. He also loved the Lingleville Cardinal teams. Lamarvin was a welder and worked for Riggs Machine and Welding for twenty years.
