Doris “Eleanor Chaffin born, August 24, 1931 in Waco, TX, passed away January 9, 2022 in Hamilton, TX.

Survived by: Husband: Nolan Chaffin, Iredell, TX. Daughter: Karen Chaffin, Benbrook, TX, Son: Kent Chaffin and wife, Linda, Iredell, TX. Grandsons: Jamey Chaffin, Iredell, TX. Roy Chaffin, Euless, TX. Great Grandson: Jack Chaffin, San Antonio, TX. Sisters in Laws, Tink Masters, Moody, TX., and Wilma Loader, Lampasas, TX. Several nieces and nephews.

She attended school in Iredell, Tx. Upon graduation she went 2 yrs at John Tarleton Jr. College. She completed her teaching degree at North Tx State University. After graduation she married the LOVE OF HER LIFE, Nolan Chaffin on May 31, 1952 at the home of her parents in Iredell, TX. She took a teaching position in Waco and when Nolan graduated from Baylor, they moved to Levelland, TX., where their daughter, Karen was born. After Nolan’s promotion they moved to Iraan, TX., where their son, Kent was born. From there they moved to Fort Worth, TX. where she was a stay at home mother until her children started school. She resumed her teaching career at White Settlement, from there she moved to Iredell where she taught for 17 of her 30 year teaching career.

She was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, granny and great granny. She loved her family, but also her church family. She was very involved with all aspects of FUMC of Iredell.

Her hobbies were reading, feeding her animals (especially the birds) & helping Nolan around the farm after retiring. Her family was the light of her life. She loved Jamey and Roy with all her heart, but when Jack came along her heart belonged to him! Many of her activities outside her home included the Historical Society, the Red Hats, United Methodist Women, & Retired Teacher Association.
We love her dearly and she will be missed more than words can ever say.

Visitation, 10am until services at 1pm, Friday, January 14, at First United Methodist Church, Iredell, TX., with Wayne Lewis officiating.
