(January 1, 1948 – March 1, 2022)
Larry Bruce Holderman was known to those who loved him as Larry, Dad, Pa and by a special few as “coach”. Larry grew up in Roscoe, Texas then went on to graduate from Tarleton State University. Larry’s coaching career included Abilene, Alice, and lastly Munday, Texas. He developed lasting friendships while in Munday. Staying connected with the young men he coached has brought him so much joy over the many years. He was a born salesman. He sold seed in Cargil for 4 years, he then pursued a career in auto sales at Bruner’s for 18 years. These last few years the Lord blessed him by opening a new door at Texstar Kubota in Stephenville where he loved going every day.
Anyone who knows Larry would know his greatest joy were his daughters, grandchildren, and great grandson. He tried to never miss any activity they participated in and loved to brag on them. He also enjoyed raising a large garden every year and which he loved sharing with others. Larry strived to keep his priorities in perspective; Jesus first, family second, and his church family and friends. He served the Lord in many capacities over the years. Larry served as a deacon since 1980. He was blessed to care for the many special and sweet widows of the church.
Family that welcomed him home were his parents, Charles and Doris Holderman, and brother Stanley. Those who will continue without him are his wife Janie of 52 years, daughters Kristi Smith and husband Brad; Tina McClean and husband Randy; grandchildren Mollie Collums and husband Cody, Jeanna, Ricky, Heath, Tyler and Leah McClean, and one great grandson Colt Collums.
