Services for Helen Marie Butler, 95, homemaker, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Weldon Branham officiating. Burial will follow at East Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2022, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Helen was born in Stephenville, Texas on July 13, 1926, to James and Bertha (Hope) Myers. She married James “Hoss” B. Butler on April 16, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2020.
Helen and her husband, “Hoss” had 2 daughters, Darla Ann and Susan Elaine. Helen and Hoss liked to travel in their motorhome and went to almost every state. They loved music and went to Branson, Missouri to the music shows and to the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Helen is survived by her sister, Mary “Dolline” McLerran of Grapevine, Texas, 3 stepdaughters from her 1st marriage, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and other extended family.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Weldon Kirk, and her husband of 68 years, Hoss Butler, her daughters, Darla and Susan, her granddaughters, Kristie Caywood and Delaina Dowdy, and her brothers, Jim and Jesse Myers.
