Jim was born on June 12, 1955 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the 5th child and son to Norman and Mary Buihner. Jim left high school early and joined the United States Navy at the age of 16. He was quickly recommended and advanced on to Boatswain Mate 2nd class. He proudly served our country for six years. He spent a lot of his young adult time living the beach life in California and Hawaii.
After the Navy he worked for ship repair companies as General Foreman Rigger and lived on the West Coast. In the late 80’s he began to work for different construction and manufacturing companies bringing him back home to Texas., including iron work for Owens Tower Company. Along the way Jim also earned his GED degree. His last place of employment at Ameri-Tech/TSI Corp. brought him back to serving his country from 2007 until retirement. There he performed general maintenance work at the US Army Ft. Hood barracks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mary Buihner;  his brothers Robert E Buihner, Thomas C. Buihner and John J. Buihner; his brother in law Marvin Owens and his niece Tama Owens Featherston.

Jim is survived by his loving family and many good friends. His two sisters, Carolyn Owens of Stephenville, Texas and Karen Duncan and brother in law Ronnie Duncan of Pouqson, Virginia. Jim had very special bonds with his nieces and nephews and continued this for his great nieces and nephews as well.  Jim’s great great nieces and nephews will not know him personally but his stories will always be told!
