The fundraiser held for Maria Cruz of Stephenville at the Newman Hall on Sunday was a huge success, according to event organizers. The event consisted of breakfast, cake walks, silent auction, live music, chicken/sausage plate with fixings, and plenty of fun and fellowship.
Cruz is in need of a kidney transplant and the fundraiser was organized to help her and her family with some of the expenses involved with a transplant and follow up medical care. She said she and her family would like to thank all the numerous folks who volunteered, loaned their cooking equipment for the event, those who donated of their time or their money, those who came out to eat or make a donation, those who purchased the auction items, and those who came out in support with love and/or a kind word. And, thank you to the fine folks of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus for allowing the use of the building.
