The Stephenville Yellow Jackets (24-9-1) are headed to the Regional Finals matchup against the No. 3 ranked Argyle Eagles (32-3-1) this weekend. They leave Thursday afternoon and the community is invited to come cheer them off to victory at 4 p.m. in front of Stephenville High School. Come line Overhill Street in front of Bond Auditorium and bring your cans to be loud!

Taking Game 1 last Thursday in Abilene over the Snyder Tigers, 6-2, the Jackets did not need a Game 3 after winning 12-8 in Game 2 on Saturday afternoon. Now the Stephenville faithful will be traveling to Weatherford College Roger Williams Ballpark this weekend for the Region I Final games and a rematch against Argyle from last year’s playoff games. The winner will be headed to the 4A UIL State Baseball Tournament.

While the Jackets swept the 2020 State Champion Eagles in two games last season to claim the title, competing against Argyle, who are ranked No. 3 in state 4A play, is never easy. The Eagles have won three state titles in recent years, but the Jackets are focused on winning again this year. Argyle is moving to 5A next year and Stephenville’s head coach Justin Swenson told the Abilene Reporter News he’s hoping to send the Eagles to the next level tied 2-2 in baseball matchups.

The Jackets will take the field at Weatherford College (located at 1400 Texas Drive, Weatherford, TX  76086) on Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. and Friday, June 3, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 4, at 7 p.m., if needed. Tickets will be $5 at the gate each night. No pre-sale tickets will be available.
