Mary Frances Franklin Hyde, 92, of Stephenville, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Frances was born on Thursday, November 21, 1929 in Ganado, Texas to the late R. O. and Lizzie Scott Franklin.  She married Isaac Henry ‘Ike’ Hyde on January 25, 1947, in Morgan Mill.  Ike preceded her in death on September 16, 1988.  Frances was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a homemaker, and waitressed several years at Mel’s Cafe.  Frances spent her entire life in Texas.

As a young girl, Frances spent lots of time in the field helping her dad farm.  She participated in many athletic activities.  She played basketball in Morgan Mill, and later played softball.  She really enjoyed watching any kind of sports on television.  She was an excellent cook, seamstress, artist, and quilter.  Frances loved playing dominoes and cards, but sometimes when she didn’t win, the cards went flying, and she went home!

The Hyde family wishes to send thank yous to all those who helped take care of mom at Good Tree Assisted Living, and those at Solaris Hospice for their tireless trips to check on Frances.  Her last year was made much easier because of their care.  One last special thank you goes to the Stephenville Fire Department for transporting our mother to the hospital and back numerous times.  Your kindness was much appreciated. 

Survivors include her son, Lyndon and wife Leslee Hyde of McGregor, TX; daughter, Gloria Hyde of Stephenville; son, Rickey and wife Kathy Hyde of Stephenville; and daughter, Kay and husband Mike Patton of Eugene, Oregon; two sisters, Mae and husband Roy Gentry, and Fae Reed; brother-in-law, Lynn O’lree; grandchildren, Angie and husband Greg Morse, Ike and wife Pua Patton, Caitlin Patton and friend Emmett; bonus granddaughter, Christi and husband John Bloomer; bonus grandsons, Chad Adams and Bart Adams; great grandchildren, Victoria, Matthew, Dylan, Kaylinn, Ihi, Mikey, Haley, and five bonus great grandchildren; great great grandchildren, Lily Ayn, Beaux, and Kietan; and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, and husband, Ike; Frances was also preceded in death by four sisters, and one brother.

No Services are planned at this time for Frances.
