Only two Tarleton rodeo team members were in action Wednesday at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., but they made their presence known.

Saddle bronc rider Cash Wilson turned in a second-place 76.5 to give him a three-head total of 226.5 in the average, putting him in position to make Saturday’s championship finals.

Breakaway roper Maddy Deerman had a fourth-place 2.6 clocking. She holds a three-head time of 7.8 seconds, good for second overall.

Tarleton’s men’s team, Wilson, Arnold, Steer wrestler Ty Allred, saddle bronc rider Brody Wells, tie-down roper Brayden Roe and team roper Brett Stuart, are in second place with performances today and tomorrow still to go.

Thursday’s performance at the Ford Wyoming Center will feature just one Tarleton cowboy, steer wrestler Walt Arnold, who will make his third run after posting identical 4.2s on his first two steers.
