The Western Athletic Conference announced Thursday the preseason coaches’ poll and the selections to the Preseason All-WAC Team.
Tarleton was picked to finish tied-ninth out of 12 teams by the conference’s coaches.
The Texans are coming off of their second season at the NCAA Division I level. Head coach Mary Schindler’s squad has produced winning seasons in both campaigns.
Last season Tarleton finished 6-6 in WAC play and fourth in the Southwest Division. This season the WAC has scrapped divisions completely. The 13 teams from across the conference will play each other in preparation for the WAC Volleyball Tournament that will be held at the UTRGV Fieldhouse in Edinburg.
The Texans return nine players from last season and added six freshmen and two D1 transfers.
Tarleton will hot a glow-themed block party on Friday with an opportunity to meet the 2022 team, watch a purple-white intrasquad scrimmage and receive some giveaways. Doors open at 8 p.m. CT.
