Obituary
James “Howard” Parks, Sr., born September 21, 1932 in Wills Point, Texas to parents Neil and Elizabeth (Wells) Parker, passed away in Hico, Texas on August 23, 2022 at age 89. Howard married the love of his life, Nellie Faye Short, on June 16, 1960. He loved listening to bluegrass and country music, enjoyed eating good home cooked food, and reminiscing about the past. Howard was a 50 year member of the Granbury Masonic Lodge and a Past Master.
Preceding Howard in death are his wife Nellie Parker, son Steve Parker, sisters and brother in-laws Lamora (Midget) and Troy Boyce, Maye and DL Newman, and Ronnie Tidwell.
Surviving Howard are son, James Parker and wife Melinda, daughter Diane Henderson, grandchildren Lauren Easter and husband Kyle, Natalie Parker and husband Michael, LaNae Rodriguez and husband Anthony, Stevie Kay Parker, Delaigna Parker and husband Michael, Ki Parker, Winter Parker, Jamie Henderson, and Craig Henderson. Also surviving Howard are great-grandchildren Rylee, Kiptyn, Austin, Bodey, Camden, Katie, Alyssa, Michael, ShelBea, KiLee, and Charli; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service Information
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, in the Rough Creek Cemetery in Granbury with Pastor Dace Clifton officiating, followed by Masonic Rights.
