STEPHENVILLE – Through two games at the Tarleton Soccer Complex, the Texans have yet to allow a goal, shutting out Alcorn State Friday night 3-0.
The win lifts the Texans to 3-1-1, while Alcorn State slips to 0-3-1 on the year.
Avery Harr got the scoring started for the Texans in the eighth minute when she chipped the keeper from the outside edge of the box. Two minutes later, Adriana Alonso-Gomez found the back of the net beating the keeper up high after a perfect cross from Kiki Baurmann.
Mila Bettinelli notched the match’s final goal in the 26th minute when she made a knifing near post run and put away a perfect cross from Baurmann.
Baurmann continues her tear, adding another two assists, bringing her season total to a team-high five.
The Texans will take the next week off before a return to action back at home. They’ll host UT Permian Basin at the Tarleton Soccer Complex on Friday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. They’ll cap next week off with a road trip to ULM on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m.
