David was born to Anna Mae Beason on January 4, 1959, in San Diego, CA. The family relocated to Odessa, TX not long after. He married his loving wife of 43 years, Carla Fay Harbin in Wickett, TX on August 3rd, 1979 in a ruffle tuxedo and shaggy hair. They enjoyed a long marriage, 3 children, 9 grandchildren and multiple other “bonus” kids and grandkids.

David, or Chigger as he was lovingly known for his ability to get under your skin, was one of a kind. He knew no stranger and took no crap. He loved people unconditionally just as they were. He was a strong man who never faltered in his choices and led by example. He was an incredibly hard worker and would do for others without hesitation. He was a “jack of all trades” and could build an engine, build a house, and fix just about anything. He enjoyed Budweiser and Marlboros, and sitting on the porch with his wife watching the deer and other wildlife wander about. He also loved being a jokester and growing his unruly gray beard.

David was a member of Lingleville Baptist Church many moons ago but held strong in his faith. He was selfless, tough, rough around the edges, and cut from a cloth that is no longer made.He lived his life honestly and plowed through adversities and tragedy.

David was preceded in death by his mother, his son, Kristopher Paul Sparks, his grandson, Kaisen Lyle Sparks, and his bonus son, Zechariah Casagranda.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Sparks, brother-in-law Douglas Harbin, his children, David Sparks and wife Jessica Sparks, Jessica Finley and husband Jayson, Brittanie Waller and husband JW, and Leslee Sparks, his grandchildren Skylah, Tanner, Adam, Zack, Keythen, Paislee, Landen, and Byron, sisters Ronda Swafford and Leslie Lambert, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was loved by many, not liked by a few, and left a huge mark on this Earth. He will be greatly missed.

The Cowboy Church will be providing lunch after the service.
