Mary Ann (Musick) Reynolds passed away after many years of health problems related to diabetes on October 12, 2022 in Kyle. She was 59 years old. Mary was born in Stephenville on May 16, 1963 to James and Barbara Musick. She graduated from Stephenville High School and then went on to receive a nursing degree from Tarleton State University. In 1982, she married Clyde Reynolds. They had two children, Julia Ann and Justin Ross Reynolds. Clyde passed away in 1985, leaving Mary a young mother and widow.   She worked for many years as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Erath County. She later returned to Tarleton to study Psychology and received a Bachelor’s degree in that field as well. She was an avid reader of mysteries and historical fiction. She enjoyed cooking, watching movies, attending concerts and visiting the Kimball Art Museum. Mary especially loved her pets and had taken in many stray dogs and cats over the years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Reynolds in 1985, father James Musick in 2013, her mother Barbara (Wyche) Musick in 2022. She also lost her son Justin Reynolds in 2012, which was a source of deep pain for her.

Mary is survived by her daughter Julia Reynolds and son-in-law Jason Olfers of Kyle, Texas, as well as 4 grandchildren:  Stellar, Rubye, Swazye, and Phenix Olfers. She is also survived by her sister Pamela Harris of Stephenville, brother Tommy Musick of Galveston, sister Phyllis Mosley of Maine, and sister Kimberley Brock of Stephenville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary had always had an interest in donating her body to science once she passed away. Her daughter fulfilled this wish by donating her body to UT Southwestern for support of scientific research in the areas of diabetes and mental health. There will not be a funeral service at this time. Due to Mary’s love for pets, and if you so desire, please make a donation to the Erath County Humane Society in her honor.
