Brooke Ann Stone, an accounting assistant and life-long resident of Stephenville and Fort Worth, Texas died unexpectedly on October 25, 2022, at the age of 47 from a car accident, just blocks from her home.

Brooke was born on March 17th – a St. Patrick’s Day baby – in 1975 in Fort Worth, Texas to Wilburn Donnel Gaines and Terry Kay Gaines Jarrett. Brooke had a rewarding career at Platinum Communications serving in the accounting and sales departments. She was a dedicated employee who will be very missed. Brooke’s most important accomplishments of her life were her children Taylor and Olivia. Taylor was born March 3, 1998, and Olivia 14 years later October 4, 2012. Her children were the brightest lights in her life and in her later years, Brooke worked diligently to provide and give to her children. Brooke enjoyed scrapbooking, coloring and art, thrift shop buying and music. She was an avid listener of pop, hip hop, rap, and urban dance music. Brooke knew how to shop, and she knew how to shop for things you buy at Ulta! Finding a bargain was Brooke’s thing. She will be very missed by her daughters, family, and friends.

Brooke is survived by her father Donnel Gaines and wife Melinda Gaines and her mother Terry Jarrett, all of Stephenville; her sister, Courtney Michelle Gaines of Austin; her children, Taylor Brooke Stone of Houston, and Olivia Meadow Gaines of Stephenville; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her stepmother Deb White Gaines and her grandparents; Wilburn Lafayette and Murl Dean Gaines and John Alton and Leona Emily Maikell.

Funeral services will be held at Stephenville Funeral Home on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 2 pm. Burial services will be thereafter at Corinth Cemetery in Stephenville near her family home. Viewing services will be held at the Stephenville Funeral Home on Saturday evening, October 29th from 6-8 pm. Pastor Worth Mays of the Erath County Cowboy Church will be officiating.
